Tiger has studied bassoon with Clare Payne, Matthew Wilkie, Andrew Barnes and Ben Hoadley. He completed his Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he was awarded the Kim Walker Scholarship, the Dean’s List of Excellence in Academic Performance, the University of Sydney Academic Merit Prize, the George Henderson Scholarship, the Frank Albert Prize for Music and Frank Hutchens Student of the Year.
In 2016, Tiger won 1st Prize Bassoon and Most Promising Bassoon in the Senior Section of the Australasian Double Reed Society National Competition. He has performed frequently on both bassoon and contrabassoon with ensembles such as the Australian Youth Orchestra, AYO’s Momentum Ensemble, Opera Australia, Sydney Youth Orchestras and Ensemble Apex, toured regionally and overseas, and was a participant in the Advanced Masterclass Program at the 2018 Australian Festival of Chamber Music. Tiger also enjoys working extensively as a bassoon tutor across Sydney.
