Evie Young, age 16, has played the oboe for 7 years and learns from Callum Hogan. She’s currently studying for her AMusA . She is in Year 11 at Ascham School where she is the oboist in the school’s Orchestra, Wind Symphony and Wind Quintet. She plays piano in the Stage Band and also sings in the Senior Madrigal group “Canzona” and the Senior Choir.

Evie studied ballet and contemporary dance at Mosman Dance Academy for 12 years and now teaches there. In 2023 she was the Dance Captain in Ascham’s musical production of “The Drowsy Chaperone”. She also attended the Australian Combined Schools Music Festival in Perth (NSW school participants were Ascham and Sydney Grammar) where she played Cor Anglais in the Wind Symphony. Evie is currently enjoying rehearsing for the Sydney Grammar musical “Sunday in the Park with George” in which she plays the roles of Celeste #2 and Betty.
