Anna da Silva Chen, violin, and Daniel de Borah, piano, are two of Australia’s leading chamber musicians. Over two nights, their program will explore the sonata form across a century and a half of tumultuous history. Beethoven’s much loved ‘Spring’ Sonata No. 5 in F Major was published in 1801. Schumann’s Sonata No. 1 in A minor was published 50 years later, then Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 1 in F minor was written across the Second World War years, nearly a century later. Join them for the journey!
